Meath County Council are listing a planning application from The Monastery Inn.
or http://planning.meath.ie/ and search for reference number TA60032
Details include…
1 no. one storey creche, capacity 25 children, 87 No. residential units with 60 no. three bed semi-detached houses, 10 no. four bed detached houses, 8 no. two bed town house units, 1 no. 3 storey apartment/retail block consisting of 7 no. two bed apartments ans 2 no. three bed apartments with 6 no. ground floor retail units.
Shared car parking for retail / apartments of 39 spaces, 14 car spaces for town houses and 8 for creche provided.
Proposed works will also include for traffic islands to the N4 road, entrance amendments to existing Monastery Inn car park; landscaping and associated site works.
Sewerage will be collected via a new foul sewer network discharging by gravity to a new waste water treatment plant on adjoining lands with treated effluent discharging to the Clonard River.
Water supply will be from a new water treatment plant & well on adjoining lands including a new pump house, water storage tank and enclosed compound.
So it looks like the new sewage works which were approved for Carrigdun Estates are to be used for this new development. However this is currently under appeal by Carraigdun Estates as shown here.
That aside, the idea of 6 retail units, another crèche in addition to the crèche proposed for Abbeyfields phase 3 and possibly the completion of a ring road at the rear of Abbeyfields to join this new development giving alternative access to the N4 will be welcomed by many.
Uses for such retail units could include dare we say it… A Shop! or maybe a laundrette or even a coffee shop!
The decision is due 23/03/2006 that would be this Thursday.
