Broadband via telephone in Kinnegad

Anecdotal evidence from residents in Kinnegad suggests that the Kinnegad exchange has been enabled for ADSL broadband (broadband over your telephone line)

To date 4 people, that we are aware of, have tested their number on the eircom broadband tester and got a “Passed” result.

So far no numbers tested in Clonard have passed including every business listed in our local businesses page!

Try your number and see what happens. Unfortunately I can’t post a direct link here to check you line with eircom because of the way their website works, but go to eircom.ie and follow the links for broadband, you are looking for “Check my line for suitability” and fill in your telephone number.

Wireless broadband is still available in Clonard via Last Mile Broadband. Some pictures of the different types of aerial install are available on www.broadband4kinnegad.com

More information about broadband in Ireland

Some more information on Broadband from the government. The opening page features a picture of Noel Dempsey the Minister for communications and broadband. And he’s a Meath TD. His email address is minister@dcmnr.ie and the person resposible for broadband within the department is Tony Barrett tony.barrett@dcmnr.gov.ie who I thought had retired?

Good Luck
